Description
Reports in several online forums state that Access randomly crashes when you attempt to apply a filter to a form.
This happens for version 2407 from August 1, 2024 and beta channel builds.
Status
Microsoft has released the fix for this bug. Version 2407, build 16.0.17830.20166 is available. Go to Update Now in the update options under Account and press the button to request the update.
We've had feedback that the crashes no longer occurred with this build and that should be the case with any build >=16.0.17830.20056. Please let us know if it works for you and especially if not.
We received this feedback from one person regarding the updated version with the fix: "One nit, Machines that were rolled back to 2406 in the past week needed to do an "Office Online Repair" before Microsoft update would recognize the existence of the new version and install it." If you experience a problem with the update, see if this step helps.
Workaround
People have reported that rolling back to version 2406 fixes the problem.
I just try it and boooomm, Access crash!!! But it only does it if I use the "Filter by form" and try to toggle after. The right-click, filter by... work ok if after I click toggle.
I never use the "filter by form" so.... I'm a lucky customer😁
